GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Friday's roundup
#ctvb -- Friday's might be all about football but, there was plenty of action on the volleyball courts. Check out the roundup below.
Amity 3, Career 0: Kathryn Pisano was 21-for-21 serving with eight aces and five assists and Haley Pierson five assists as the Spartans (2-0) tamed the Panthers (0-1) in Woodbridge.
Mercy 3, Guilford 0: Meghan Nelson had 18 kills, Jessica Hoops had 26 assists and Nina Zimmitti had 11 digs and was 15-17 serving as the Tigers (1-0) defeated the Indians (1-1) at Guilford.
Caitlin Sobolewski had seven kills, two aces, two blocks, Taylor White had 17 assists, 10 digs, Sam Grinold 12 service points, nine digs and Lynn Guibbory had nine digs
Haddam-Killingworth 3, Hale-Ray 0: Kirsten Carlson had 24 assists and Lauren Brough had nine kills and eight digs for the Cougars (2-1) in a win over the Noises (1-1).
For Hale-Ray, Kristen Wicander had eight kills, three blocks and two aces to go along with Eliza Burke’s nine kills.
Sacred Heart 3, Law 1: Shannon Bissell had 15 service points, 13 assists, seven aces, Lexi Iannone had seven kills, six aces, and three blocks, and Caitlyn Keish had six kills as Sacred Heart (2-0) won in Hamden.
For Law (0-2), Caitlin Prete had 14 digs and eight kills, Brooke Bonetti had five digs, and Colleen Bogucki had 16 assists, 10 digs, and three aces.
St. Luke’s 3, Hamden Hall 1: Jing-Jing Wang: had five assists, four digs, three aces and two kills, 3 aces, Syndey Dinkeloo had six kills, two aces, two digs and a block, Dane Lee had six assists, three digs and two kills for Hamden Hall in a losing effort to St. Luke’s.
Stratford 3, Oxford 0: Rachel Santo had 10 kills, four service points and two blocks, Brenna Royal had nine kills and five service points and Gave Rooney added 20 assists as the Red Devils (2-1) defeated the Wolverines (1-1).
Makenzie Edo had four aces and three kills for Oxford.
West Haven 3, Hillhouse 0: Waverlyrose Brim had six aces and six kills for the Blue Devils (1-1) in a sweep of the Academics (1-1) in New Haven.
Sarah Moran had three aces, three kills and three digs and Savanah Brown added six kills for the Westies.
