GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Tuesday's roundup

#ctvb -- The regular-season has begun and there was plenty of action on the courts Tuesday. Check out Tuesday's roundup.
Amity 3, Law 0: Sydnee Sousa was 22-for-22 serving with three aces, Kathyrn Pisano had 16 assists and Allison Denny added eight kills as the Spartans (1-0) downed the Eagles (0-1) in Milford.
Colleen Bogucki had 21 assists and 11 digs, Caitlin Prete had 16 digs and Jessica Ruiz added 13 digs and five kills for Law.
Ansonia 3, St. Paul 0: Morgan Westine had 11 assists and added three aces, Alexia Steeves contributed eight kills and three blocks and Heather Rosebrock added five kills as the Chargers downed the Falcons in Bristol.
Emily Tkac had 11 assists and Christina Scurto had four kills for St. Paul (0-1) in the loss to Ansonia (1-0).
Branford 3, Hamden 0: Lauren Kuhn had 14 assists and three aces, Anna Atkinson had eight kills and Kelly Smith had six digs as the Hornets (1-0) defeated the Green Dragons (1-0) in the season-opener for both at Branford.
Guilford 3, Sheehan 1: Katie Read led the team with 23 digs, Ali Sperrazza had 11 kills and 10 digs and Megan Gavin made her varsity debut as setter and finished with 20 assists but, Sheehan fell to Guilford in the season-opener for both teams.
Haddam-Killingworth 3, North Branford 0: Kirsten Carlson had 12 assists and Lauren Brough and Olivia Parmelee added four kills each for the Cougars (1-0) against the Thunderbirds (0-1) in North Branford.
Kayla Nowak had three blocks and three kills, Tori Ramada had eight assists, Allie Sanzari had five assists and Ashley Poston added two kills and a block.
Hale-Ray 3, Cromwell 2: Eliza Burke had a game-high 10 kills and 13 service points and Jordan Ziorban added eight kills and nine service points as the Noises tamed the Panthers in the season-opener for both.
Maggi Karsetter led Cromwell (0-1, 0-1 Shoreline Conference) with 19 digs, four kills and two blocks. Steph Hartnett had 10 digs, five kills and four blocks in the loss to Hale-Ray (1-0, 1-0).
Hillhouse 3, Wilbur Cross 1: Khadejia Kenion was 14-of-16 serving with six kills as the Academics (1-0) defeated the Governors.
Heaven Daluz had five fills and two blocks for Wilbur Cross (0-1).
Holy Child 3, Hamden Hall 0: Jing-Jing Wang had five aces, two assists and two digs and Sydney Dinkeloo had three aces, four kills, two digs and a block and Lisa Peck added two kills in a losing effort for Hamden Hall.
Lyman Hall 3, West Haven 0: Ally Hackett had 12 assists, nine aces and two digs, Melanie Schanke contributed eight kills and six aces and Stephanie Napierkowski rounded out the strong team performance with seven aces and three blocks as the Trojans (1-0) swept the Blue Devils (0-1) on opening day in West Haven.
Kara Patterson had three kills and three digs and Erica Lindsay had 11 assists, three digs and two aces for the Westies.
Seymour 3, Wolcott 0: The Wildcats’ Carissa Wasikowski had a game-high 18 assists and Cindy Farrell had a game-high 10 kills in the season-opener for both in Seymour.
Grace Nisbet added 12 digs, Angela Tacinelli had eight kills and Elli Emmanouil had five kills for the Wildcats (1-0). Alicia Ramirez had a game-high 18 digs for Wolcott (0-1).
Shelton 3, Hand 1: Nicole Bears led the Gaelettes with 22 assists, Alyssa Eannutti had 15 kills and Checka Testani had 11 kills and nine aces in a season-opening victory in Madison.
Kyle Maxwell had 14 digs and five aces, Cassidy Wygonik had 11 kills and Jayna Concannon had nine kills and seven digs as the Tigers (0-1) fell to Shelton (1-0).
Stratford 3, Platt Tech 0: Haley Dunning had 24 service points, Rachel Santo had 14 kills and Gabe Rooney had 17 assists as the Red Devils (1-0) came out triumphant in Stratford.
