Shelton 8, Law 4

Nick Georgalas and Mike Manzo had three-run homers as visiting Shelton defeated No. 8 Law 8-4 in a Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision baseball game Monday.

Mike Sarni also homered and Tom Carroll had two hits for the Gaels (8-4).

Brett Doran and Andrew Plaskon had fifth-inning homers for Law (9-3).


Fairfield Prep 2, Career 1: Jon DiMartino scored the winning run on Matt Pekar’s sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Jesuits in this SCC interdivision win at Fairfield.

Ray Buckley and John Blagys each had two hits for Fairfield Prep (6-5).
Kyle Craven had two hits and scored for the Panthers (5-5).

In softball action:

Lyman Hall 1, Foran 0: Lauren Zambrano tossed a one-hitter, struck out 14 and had an RBI double in the first inning in the host Trojans’ SCC interdivision victory.

Sage Esposito broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff double in the seventh inning for Foran

North Haven 2, Mercy 1: Jenn Cruver scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the host Indians to a SCC interdivision win.

Cruver also scattered six hits, struck out eight and had two hits for North Haven (7-5).

Amber Donovan had two hits for Mercy (10-2).
