Shelton upsets No. 4 Notre Dame-West Haven
Shelton's Peter Jay threw a three-hitter and Tom Carroll and Mike Sarni each went 1-for-3, with Carroll driving in a run with a double in the fourth inning to lead the Gaels to a 3-1 upset over No. 4 Notre Dame.
Gaels' coach Scott Gura said Dan St. George made two outstanding defensive plays in center.
Dan Mercado had a home run for Notre Dame-West Haven, which drops to 9-2.
Shelton is 7-4 with wins over NDWH and Amity.
A couple of key SCC games this week:
Shelton plays at Law Monday.
Amity plays at Cheshire Thursday.
