EAST HAVEN — Things were not looking good for the East Haven girls’ basketball team at the midway point of the regular season.

The Yellowjackets lost seven of their first nine games, and a second straight trip to the Class M state tournament wasn’t looking too good.

“I think we were kind of disappointed in ourselves, and we wanted to prove to everyone that were not going to give up like this and we would fight back,” senior center and co-captain Amanda Bradley said. “The seniors on the team got together and said, ‘We have to change something.’”
