No. 1 Seymour loses
Ryan Genua’s two-run single highlighted a three-run fifth inning for the Woodland baseball team, which upset previously-undefeated and top-ranked Seymour 3-2 Wednesday afternoon in a Naugatuck Valley League win at Beacon Falls.
This was Seymour’s first loss in the NVL since losing to Woodland on May 11, 2007.
Nick Boucher had an RBI double and Jaqson Skibek had six strikeouts and eight walks for the Hawks (9-7). Garrett Cornwell struck out three for the Wildcats (15-1).
