May's SCC scholar-athletes
Thirteen student-athletes from seven high schools have been named The
SportsCenter of Connecticut/Southern Connecticut Conference Scholar
Athletes of the Month for May.
Now concluding its sixth year, The SportsCenter of Connecticut/SCC Scholar Athlete of the Month program honored 105 student-athletes during the 2011-12 season. Student-athletes who are selected must be a varsity letterwinner and have a 3.0/B average while demonstrating leadership qualities.
The student-athletes for May are: William Maloney of Shelton (outdoor track), Emily Komornik of Shelton (softball), Jeff Sherwood of Lyman Hall (baseball), Emily Newhard of Lyman Hall (tennis), Jake Sussman of Career (baseball), Brianna Longley of Career (softball), Amariah Lem of East Haven (tennis), Tim Dessureau of East Haven (tennis), Nicole Casasanta of Sacred Heart Academy (lacrosse), Teal Howard of Hamden (tennis), Clare Ryan of Hamden (softball), Jaime Kader of Foran (tennis) and Shawn Cariglio of Foran (baseball).
