Trio plays in state tennis singles finals
WEST HARTFORD — Jason Seidman could have easily surrendered in Wednesday’s Class LL state singles semifinals to an opponent he had lost to three times already this season.
One game from losing the match, the Amity freshman fought back to beat Cheshire’s Bryan Adams in three sets to move onto the finals. On Thursday, Seidman fell behind in similar fashion to Greenwich top seed Tyler Kratky in the LL final, then came back in the second set to serve for the third set.
But the fifth-seeded Seidman ran out of steam as Kratky ended up winning the match 6-1, 7-5 at Conard. Still, it was a good showing for someone who might find himself in the final a few more times before his career is done.
“It was a good experience. I still have next year and the years after. I have a lot to work on,” said Seidman, 15.
