Hand, Westbrook win girls tennis state titles
NEW HAVEN — On Thursday the Hand girls’ tennis team was on the verge of falling short of its Class M state title defense, but rallied to beat Southern Connecticut Conference foe North Haven in the semifinals.
The second-seeded Tigers were back at it again on Friday, one step away from back-to-back crowns. If there was any fatigue from the semifinal match that lasted over 4½ hours, the players did not show it.
