Farmington's Michalak wins Gatorade award
Kevin Michalak of Farmington High School has been selected the 2010-11 Gatorade Connecticut Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Michalak is the second Gatorade Connecticut Boys Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Farmington High School.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pound senior midfielder led the Indians to a 16-2-3 record and the Class LL state championship this past season. Michalak recorded 14 goals and eight assists, including a goal and assist in Farmington’s 2-1 win over Staples in the state final. An All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Michalak was also an NSCAA Scholar All-American. Michalak concluded his high school career with 25 goals and 22 assists.
Michalak will play soccer at Yale University this fall.
