From the Southern Connecticut Conference .... 

The pairings for the 2012 Southern Connecticut Conference Boys Ice Hockey Division II playoffs are set.  

The tournament starts Thursday with the semifinals at Bennett Rink in West Haven.  The championship game is Saturday at 6 p.m. 

 

The entire tournament will be webcast at www.sportingnewsct.com.

 

2011-12 regular-season champion Hand (5-0) is the top seed.   The Tigers are also the defending SCC Division II champion. 

 

The next three teams were all tied with a 3-2 regular-season record – and the seeds were determined by fewest penalty minutes tie-breaker.

 

The second seed is Milford, which is making its first-ever playoff appearance.  Branford is the third seed and making its fifth SCC playoff appearance in six years. Guilford, which lost to Hand, 3-1, in the 2011 championship game, is the fourth seed.

No. 2 Milford vs. No 3 Branford –  5:30 p.m.

No. 1 Daniel Hand vs. No. 4 Guilford – 7:30 p.m.

 

Championship Game – Saturday, March 3 – 6 p.m. at Bennett Rink
