Law junior Terrence Lewis works hard, strives to get better and always sets lofty goals — but he even surprised himself by winning the long jump at last week’s Class M indoor track championships.
Lewis recorded a season-best and personal-best jump of 20 feet, 5 inches to finish first last Tuesday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. Platt Tech’s Spencer Blake placed second (20-4.75) and Bethel’s Joshua Barrera-Barnes was third (20-3).
“To be honest, I was in a calm shock about winning it,” Lewis said of becoming Law’s first indoor state champion in its inaugural season as an indoor track and field program.
