Hand, North Haven, Cheshire all clinch soccer crowns
Hand defeated Guilford 3-2 Thursday night to win the SCC Hammonasset Division championship for the first time since 2005. The Tigers also clinched the top seed in next week's league tournament that has expanded to eight teams.
The North Haven boys shut out East Haven 4-0 to win the SCC Oronoque Division.
On the girls side, Cheshire scored with less than 5 minutes in regulation to beat Shelton 2-1 and win the SCC Housatonic Division championship for the fourth straight time.
