Final week of soccer regular season

With one week to go in the regular season, only one team from the Southern Connecticut Conference has clinched an outright division title: Hamden in the SCC Quinnipiac.
Hand and Guilford will decide the SCC Hammonasset on Wednesday, Shelton still controls its own destiny in the SCC Housatonic and Wilbur Cross, yes, Wilbur Cross, can earn a spot in the SCC tournament next week if the Govs can beat North Haven on Tuesday. You can read about Cross' best week of the season here.

On the boys side, Guilford and Hand will meet for the second time Wednesday to decide the Hammonasset, North Haven can win the Oronoque by beating East Haven on Wednesday, Fairfield Prep can repeat in the Quinnipiac by beating Hamden Wednesday and Shelton can clinch the Housy by winning its last two games.

The SCC tournament for both sports begin Nov. 2 with quarterfinal-round action at the site of the higher seed. Check back here later in the week for the tournament seedings.
