CIAC Division II final: St. Joe's ahead 3-0 after one period

Amity outshot St. Joseph in the first period 12-10 but it was St. Joseph who ended up dominating where it counts – the scoreboard – with three quick unanswered goals.
Forward Pat Corcoran, camped out in front of the left post, took a pass from Connor Crouse of West Haven and scored a power-play goal at 5:28 for a 1-0 lead.
Forward Rob Bresnan added a goal to make it 2-0 and the Cadets padded the lead on a short-handed goal from Crouse.
Crouse stole the puck at the Amity blue line and waltzed in on Amity goalie Alec Mansfield. His rising shot caught the upper corner to make it 3-0 at 7:56.
Amity had several solid chances to score but St. Joseph goalie Zach Carrano denied the Spartans each time.
