Berlin Pitcher Named Gatorade Player of the Year
Berlin senior Matt Carasiti was named Gatorade Connecticut Baseball Player of the Year today.
The right-handed pitcher has a 7-1 record, while posting a 1.08 ERA with 84 strikeouts. He is the ace for the Redcoats, which are 17-3 entering the Class M state tournament. Carasiti is also batting .448 with three home runs and 17 RBIs.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Carasiti signed a national letter of intent to play at St. John's, but is expected to be selected in next month's MLB Draft.
