Cochran out as New London football coach
The Day of New London has reported that Jack Cochran, who led the school to the Class SS state football championship last December, has been removed as football coach.
According to the Day, Christopher Clouet, the superintendent of schools in New London, made the decision. Cochran had held an illegal practice in his short tenure as baseball coach. He resigned on March 5, not too long after being hired at his alma mater.
Cochran, who also coached football at Bloomfield and New Britain, led the Whalers to three state championship games in his four seasons at New London. He will remain as a health teacher at the school.
