Today's Top Baseball Performances

  • In the game of the day, Seymour coasted past NVL rival Holy Cross 11-3 behind John Murphy, who finished with three hits and four RBIs. That included a towering two-run home run. Chris Renzoni picked up the win for the Wildcats.
  • Aaron DelGuidice struck out 13 and allowed just two hits in Lyman Hall's 10-0 win over Hillhouse.
  • Tom Driscoll went 4-for-5, with a triple, double and two runs in Hopkins' 19-7 win over Brunswick. Hopkins appears to be a power in the Fairchester League this season.
  • Frank Amento had three hits, including a home run, as East Haven won its first game with a 10-4 victory over North Branford.
  • Mike Sarni drove in the game-tying run and scored the game-winning run in Shelton's 5-4 win over Hamden. The Gaels opened the season with two close games, dropping the first to Notre-Dame-West Haven.
  • Marc Demattie went 3-for-4 in Amity's 14-6 win over Fairfield Prep. Amity's offense has opened the season with 26 runs in its first two games. The Jesuits had five errors today.
