Amity's Gamble sets state record

Amity senior Annelies Gamble placed second in the 600 meter run but broke a 17-year old record by finishing in 1 minute, 33.43 seconds at the New England championships at Roxbury, Mass.

The old record of 1:33.87 was set by Waterford’s Liza Mueller in 1992.

Teammate Allison Barwise won the high jump with a persona-best leap of 5 feet, seven inches. Barwise also placed seventh in the long jump (16-8).

Wilbur Cross’ Cas Loxsom won the 600 meter run and set a meet record. Loxsom finished in 1 minute, 18.72 seconds, eclipsing the old mark by almost a full second previously set by Russell Brown of Hanover, New Hampshire in 2003.
