SCC boys' basketball tournament final

Hamden and Sheehan played one for the ages, at least as far as the SCC goes, Tuesday night. The two teams battled into double overtime with Hamden prevailing 77-74.
Hamden guard Tobin Carberry had 33 points and now has 67 for the tournament. But the most interesting thing was Hamden being able to win despite Carberry fouling out with 3:07 left in the second overtime.
Now the sixth-seeded Green Dragons move onto Wednesday's final against top seed Hillhouse. Carberry will need to have another monster game and get plenty of help in order for Hamden to pull the upset.
But Freddie Wilson, Jeremy Moore and the rest of the Academics look to be on one of those missions again to win Class LL. Wednesday looks to be another step in that direction.

Morelli's pick: Hillhouse 65, Hamden 50.
