Friday night boys hoop
Jordan Williams of Torrington equaled his school record of 52 points to help the Red Raiders beat Crosby 87-76 and split the season series with the Bulldogs. Crosby point guard Anthony Ireland had 34 points.
If you are keeping score at home, Williams has scored 102 points against Crosby in two games this season.
In other action, Lyman Hall beat Foran to lock up the No. 2 seed in the SCC Tournament. Hillhouse will be the top seed. The rest of the seedings will be determined on Monday night. Twelve teams have already qualified for the tournament, which begins next Thursday. Cheshire needs to win at Wilbur Cross to qualify for that and the Class LL state tournament.
There should be very little change in the top 10 poll this week: Crosby's loss to Torrington was the only one among last week's top 10.
