GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Bradley commits to Marist

In a prepared statement, Marist women's volleyball coach Tom Hanna announced today that outside hitter Amanda Bradley of East Haven High is one of four players nationwide to commit to play for the Red Foxes this fall.
Bradley is a four year starter on the Easties volleyball, basketball and softball teams. This past fall, Bradley was named to the 2012 All-State, All-Area and All-Division Team. She was also named to the All-Division team in 2010 and 2011. Off the court, Bradley was named to the Southern Connecticut Conference All-Academic Team and acts as her school’s Secretary of the National Honor Society.
“Amanda is a great athlete whose best volleyball is in front of her," Hanna said in the statement. "In her first season of club ball with the Connecticut Juniors, she is already starting to show glimpses of the player that she can become. I am excited to work with her over the next few years and see how great a player she becomes during her career as a Red Fox.”

Knowing the Lions were a scrappy bunch that was not going to go away easily, the Crusaders were put to the test.

Through two games, the Lions gave Lauralton Hall everything it could handle. Then, the Crusaders took over.

NORTH HAVEN — Wednesday night’s girls’ volleyball contest between North Haven and Amity featured two teams coming from completely different directions.

Amity entered having lost seven of its last 11 matches after a quick start to the season while the Indians had won five in a row following a slow start.

The beauty of sports is records can be thrown out the window with the final outcomes decided on the playing surface.

Such was the case at North Haven High where Amity defeated the Indians 3-2 after squandering a 2-0 lead.
