GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Third-seeded Lauralton Hall tops No. 11 Foran in Class M state tournament

MILFORD — With the possibility of facing South-West Conference rival Joel Barlow on the horizon, the Lauralton Hall volleyball team knew it had to focus on a tough Foran team first in the quarterfinals of the CIAC Class M state tournament.

Knowing the Lions were a scrappy bunch that was not going to go away easily, the Crusaders were put to the test.

Through two games, the Lions gave Lauralton Hall everything it could handle. Then, the Crusaders took over.

Lauralton Hall to Host Christ the King

Led by St. John's-bound guard Keylantra Langley, the Lauralton Hall girls' basketball team will host New York City powerhouse Christ the King in a scrimmage Friday at 5 p.m.
The scrimmage is open to the public.

Langley Commits to St. John's

Lauralton Hall guard Keylantra Langley gave an oral commitment Saturday to play basketball at St. John's.
Langley, a 5-foot-9 senior from Bridgeport, averaged 15.2 points, nine rebounds and seven assists last season for the Crusaders. Along with the Red Storm, Langley was considering Marist, Cincinnati and James Madison.

Lauralton Hall senior Keylantra Langley is ranked No. 50 in the ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 players of the 2010 class and No. 17 among point guards. Hopkins senior Lauren Okafor is No. 84 on the list and No. 15 among forwards. For the complete list click here.
