Girls' swimming: Cheshire streak goes to 275

The Cheshire girls' swim team defeated SCC foe Amity 91-84 on Friday to improve to 10-0 in dual meets for the season. The win also improved the Rams' national school record of consecutive regular season dual meet wins to 275.
Jen Tavares led the Rams in the meet with individual wins in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

Girls' swimming: Cheshire's Ed Aston gets career-win 400

Cheshire girls’ swimming coach Ed Aston won his 400th career meet Friday night as the Rams defeated Glastonbury 116-70 at home. It was the 271st consecutive dual meet win for the program. The Rams (6-0) won seven events in the meet with Glastonbury.

Aston's overall record is 400-19-1. In 36 years Aston’s girls’ teams have won 29 league championships (SCC titles the last 16 years), 25 Class titles (two Class LL, 18 Class L and five Class M) and 13 State Open titles. The girls’ swim team has also won seven NISCA National Dual Meet championships.

Girls' swimming: Cheshire's Aston tries for career-win 400

Cheshire girls'swim coach Ed Aston enters tonight's meet against Glastonbury with an opportunity to reach a unique milestone - 400 dual meet career wins with the Rams girls' swim team. The meet is at the Cheshire Town Pool at 7 p.m.

Cheshire defeated SCC foe Hand 98-80 on Thursday as the Rams improved to 5-0 for the season and improved their national consecutive dual meet win-streak record to 270.

With the Hand win Aston improved girls' swim record to 399-19-1. In 36 years Aston’s girls’ teams have won 29 league championships (SCC titles the last 16 years), 25 Class titles (two Class LL, 18 Class L and five Class M) and 13 State Open titles. The girls’ swim team has also won seven NISCA National Dual Meet championships.
