Girls' swimming: Cheshire's Aston tries for career-win 400

Cheshire girls'swim coach Ed Aston enters tonight's meet against Glastonbury with an opportunity to reach a unique milestone - 400 dual meet career wins with the Rams girls' swim team. The meet is at the Cheshire Town Pool at 7 p.m.

Cheshire defeated SCC foe Hand 98-80 on Thursday as the Rams improved to 5-0 for the season and improved their national consecutive dual meet win-streak record to 270.

With the Hand win Aston improved girls' swim record to 399-19-1. In 36 years Aston’s girls’ teams have won 29 league championships (SCC titles the last 16 years), 25 Class titles (two Class LL, 18 Class L and five Class M) and 13 State Open titles. The girls’ swim team has also won seven NISCA National Dual Meet championships.
