Carasiti Drafted

Berlin senior pitcher Matt Carasiti was selected in the 36th round by the Texas Rangers, the 1,084th overall selection on the second day of the MLB Draft.
Carasiti, the state Gatorade Player of the Year, was projected to go as high as the fifth round.
Following a 13-strikeout performance in a 4-1 win over Sheehan in the Class L semifinals, the right-handed Carasiti said it was going to take a lot of money to pull him away from St. John's, the school which offered him a partial scholarship.
That's why his stock dropped.
