HOCKEY: DIVISION I FINAL SCORELESS AFTER FIRST PERIOD
As predicted, Hamden goalie Anthony Avitable and Glastonbury goalie Mike Ford are making it tough to get on the board. Hamden outshot Glastonbury 7-4 in the scoreless first period.
One of the best chances the Tomahawks had to score came off a break down the right wing. Alex Zlatkus was alone at the bottom of the right circle and wound up for a slap shot. Avitable stopped the riser with his pad and cleared it away with his stick at 3:10.
One of Hamden's best chances came 20 seconds later when Mike Berezecky took a wrist shot from about eight feet in front of Ford. The goalie kicked the puck and then swatted it away with his stick.
