HOCKEY: RILEY LEADS ST. JOES TO 3-2 WIN, DIVISION III TITLE

Kevin Riley of Trumbull scored at 5:43 of the second sudden death overtime to lead St. Joseph to a 3-2 win over Staples/Weston in the CIAC Division III championship at Ingalls Rink. Wreckers goalie Luk Andriuk fell to the ice, leaving the right side of the net wide open and Riley took advantage of the opportunity.
The entire team and coaches mobbed him as soon as the red light went on and the goal was official. Goalie Zack Carrano of Milford made 53 saves in the game for the Cadets (15-8-1).
