HOCKEY: DIVISION I FINAL PREGAME

The CIAC Division I final between No. 1 Hamden and No.7 Glastonbury is about to start in 10 minutes and Ingalls Rink is packed with boistrous fans on both sides. It is standing room only with an estimated 3,000 in attendance.
Part of the pre-game ceremonies include the introductions of former state championship players at the game, including former East Haven player Lou Pane of East Haven who coaches the Yellowjackets.
Also honored was the Hamden hockey team that won the first CIAC Division I championship in 1948.
Hamden has its usual section filled with students complete with faces painted green and yellow.
This game is expected to be dominated by goalies Anthony Avitable of Hamden and Mike Ford of Glastonbury. My prediction is Hamden 3-2.
