NOWAK ON HOCKEY: MASSACHUSETTS POWER COMES TO CONN.

There are a lot of solid boys' hockey matchups this week but the most intriguing will take place on Saturday when No. 1 ranked Fairfield Prep plays host to Boston College High at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport at noon.
BC High is led by 6-foot-1 senior Sam Marotta, one of the top goalies in Massachusetts boys' hockey. He will surely test the red-hot Jesuits' depth and talent.
BC High has a tradition of winning and is one of the elite hockey teams, public or or private, in the Bay state.
Massachusetts has what is known as the Super Eight tournament for the elite Division I teams in the state. At the end of the regular season, the top 10 Division I teams, public and private combined, advance to the Super Eight. The bottom four teams have a play-in game and the remaining eight teams compete to determine the top team. BC High has made 14 appearances in the Super Eight tournament, it has a 48-17 record in those appearances and has won the coveted championship four times - 2007, 2006, 2002, 1996.
