Start of the spring season



The previews for the spring sports debut in Saturday's editions.

Could the CIAC golf season move to the fall? The state golf pros would like to see that. It may not be easy. Pictured above is Notre Dame-West Haven golfer Eric Austin.

On Sunday, check out Mary Albl's track story on phenoms Precious Holmes and Henry Wynne of Staples.

Lacrosse debuts on Monday, softball on Tuesday and baseball Wednesday, the day the spring season officially opens.
