Bridgeport schools to NVL?
As first reported by Dave Ruden from the Stamford Advocate, the three Bridgeport schools, Bassick, Bridgeport Central and Harding, had a preliminary meeting with the Naugatuck Valley League about possibly joining their league.
So first Oxford wants to move to the NVL, a fit that makes sense geographic, and now the Bridgeport schools possibly, which is great for boys' basketball. Those schools could be more competitive in football and baseball and some girls sports. But is this a geographic fit for the three schools? Does that even matter anymore?
If this does happen at some point, and the FCIAC does go back to 16 teams, how would it affect the SCC-FCIAC Challenge for football if that merger does come to fruition for both the 2013 and 2014 seasons?
