Lacrosse: Super Junior boys and girls all-star games
The boys and girls Super Juniors All-Star games, sponsored by the Connecticut Lacrosse Foundation, kicks off tonight with the girls' game at Yale's Johnson Field at 7 p.m.
After tryouts on Monday nearly 50 girls were selected to play in the Super Junior game. Among the local girls competing are Maria Blois and Alyssa Hague of Cheshire and Kara McHugh and Christy Forrest of Hand.
After tryouts on Sunday and Wednesday, 50 boys were selected for the Super Junior Boys All-Star game to be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Yale's Reese's Stadium.
Among the local boys selected are Kevin Adams, Dylan Baumgardner and Tyler Violano of Cheshire, Matt Brophy and Conor Barr of Fairfield Prep, Kevin Frey and Matt Lee of Hand, Dylan Woods of Xavier, Bill Ring and A.J. Wilcox of Guilford, Tyler Vallie of Amity and Tikim Coombs of Hopkins.
