HOCKEY: HAMDEN-GUILFORD GIRLS PLAY FOR TITLE
The Hamden girls' hockey team is now in the driver's seat....
Thanks to its 5-3 Central Connecticut Girls' Hockey League win over Simsbury on Saturday, the Green Dragons can clinch the second league title in the history of their program. Hamden plays host to CCGHL rival Guilford on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Astorino Rink. Guilford and Simsbury are both 9-2 in the league and Hamden is 9-1-1.
"It's going to be an exciting game with Guilford," Hamden coach Val Chamberlain said after his win over Simsbury on Saturday. "Guilford always has a lot of talent and they are well coached. Our games are always tough and exciting."
A Hamden win would also give the Green Dragons the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CCGHL tournament.
