Field hockey: Cheshire clinches SCC title
Miranda Garcia had a goal and an assist to lead the fifth-ranked Cheshire field hockey team to a 3-0 win over Lyman Hall in Wallingford on Wednesday to clinch their second straight Southern Connecticut Conference regular season title.
The Rams made it easy for their two goalies Maddy Levy and Lauren Fountain as Cheshire outshot Lyman Hall 20-0. Kathleen Lima and Olivia Larson added goals for the Rams.
The Rams clinched the title with a 10-0 SCC record and end the regular season with A 16-2 record.
Goalie Alexa Rubano made 10 saves for the Trojans (5-8-2-1, 2-9-1-1).
