SEYMOUR — Head coach Missy Orosz admits it. The bar wasn’t set too high for the Seymour girls’ tennis team heading into this season.

“To be honest, I was just hoping to get into the Naugatuck Valley League tournament and get into states again,” said the second-year head coach. “And just make sure everyone is having fun and just trying to build the program.”

Well it’s safe to say it’s been a pleasantly surprising first half of the season for the Wildcats, who own an 8-2 mark, sit in second place in the NVL Brass Division and were selected as the Register Team of the Week.
