WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The boys’ championship race should be competitive with teams like Fairfield Prep, Darien, Simsbury and Xavier as the frontrunners. Jesuits senior Connor Rog will be the favorite to win the individual title. Naugatuck’s Muad Hrezi and Xavier’s Dave Pugliese should be his top challengers.
On the girls’ side, Thomaston and Glastonbury will battle for the team title in the championship race. Cheshire should be the area’s top finisher. Watch for Hand’s Sarah Cotton to win the championship race. Thomaston’s sophomore duo of Sabrina Olsen and Becky Perugini, along with Fitch’s Brandy LeClair should be among the top finishers.
